Overview of Application Security:
Security is crucial for application developers and infrastructure specialists alike. Knowledge in security and privacy is essential for creating secure applications. Despite the abundance of mobile apps, with over 2 million on Android and iOS combined, 55% fail to make it to the platform due to security and privacy oversights during development.
Web applications are increasingly targeted by cybercriminals. Recent statistics from the Verizon Data Breach Report reveal that 70% of breaches in the retail sector originate from web applications. The average cost of a data breach is a staggering 4.24 million dollars, highlighting the significant risk to businesses.
